50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Barbera from Covata*. Refined in French oak barrels for 12 months and then further aged in the bottle for at least 10 months.
Bright red ruby. Intense aromas and finish with notes of mature red fruit. Very full-bodied, with great softness from the Cabernet and good acidity from the Barbera, accents of vanilla and spice, with a medium-long finish. Ideal candidate for long-term aging.
Accompaniments: red meats and game, mature cheeses. Conversational wine. Serve: 20°C
*The vineyard is on a hill at a maximum height of 280 mt. a.s.l. , with optimal south, south-west exposure. The ground is lime-clay. The area benefits of more thermal excursions due to its position relative to the Po valley. In the “Covata” vineyard only Barbera is grown, using the Guyot method. The specific characteristics of the soil and daily climate in this area allow greater aromatic concentration to form in the grape skins. The result is that the Barbera “La Covata” possesses a range of scents and aromas that are more intense, complex and elegant than any other Barbera. Bottle aging will further intensify the aromatic richness of this strong wine.
